Our Story

From a Church Plant to a Church Partner

Then: One Church in Two Locations

We opened our doors at 26th & Ellis in the fall of 2018, but our church's story begins years before that with prayer. Through prayer and the Bible's command to make disciples, the elders and members of Faith Baptist Fellowship in Sioux Falls took steps to open a second location, or "campus." The congregation saw a need for a church on the growing west side of Sioux Falls. A group of 70 members planted Faith Baptist Fellowship West, and we became one church with two locations. Faith Baptist Fellowship's church planting goal was to establish a new, healthy church that could develop naturally and flourish for maximum kingdom impact. Its prayer was that its west location would one day be autonomous in its leadership, finances, and ministry.

Now: Two Churches with One Mission

By God's grace, the west location grew and continued taking gradual steps towards being an independent church. Easter Sunday 2023 marked our official transition to a new name while remaining the same church at our core. We hold the same vision, mission, beliefs, and ministry framework as summarized in our 5 Loves

Church Leadership

Elder-Led Church

Risen Hope Baptist Church is a congregation led by qualified elders/pastors (1 Timothy 3:16). These men shepherd, direct, and care for our church. Our Ministry Leaders serve alongside the elders by using their gifts to oversee the ministries within our church.
